Vancouver Foundation Youth Policy Program
I participated in creating policy recommendations for an issue I felt passionately about. I chose Youth-In-Care’s rights to their culture and community. This was an extremely impactful experience on my understanding and knowledge of how policy works and the protocol to follow in order to ignite change. One of the main take-aways I had from this experience was the emphasis on inclusivity within our policies which I believe has shaped my understanding of how powerful education is for a more inclusive community.
Education Assistant and Community Support Certificate
It was an honour to graduate with the Education Assistant and Community Support Certificate. This program focused on support for students with diverse needs and I believe this will be extremely beneficial for my career as a teacher. I gained knowledge on classroom structure, behavioural management, and tools that will help me create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
